How is the pollution resistance of composite insulators?

Publish Time: 2024-06-24

Composite insulators Composite insulators have an overall rod-shaped design, compact structure, high quality, and are 1/10 the weight of porcelain and glass insulators of the same grade. They are easy to transport and install. They are suitable for polluted areas, high mechanical tensile loads, large spans and compact lines. The pollution flashover voltage is 30%-50% higher than that of porcelain and glass insulators of the same grade. The performance is stable at an ambient temperature of -60 degrees to +200 degrees. The non-breakdown design is adopted, and there is no need to measure the zero value during operation.

(1) Excellent pollution performance. The surface of the silicone rubber umbrella material is not only hydrophobic when it is new, but also can restore its hydrophobicity after it is temporarily lost under the operating conditions of the line. Water forms water droplets on the surface of the material, and the very fine film of the silicone rubber liquid basically engulfs the dirt, thereby inhibiting the dissolution of ionic substances in water, providing a high surface resistance, reducing leakage current, and increasing the pollution flashover voltage. This performance is maintained even when the silicone rubber material is aged. This improves the reliability of power transmission and significantly reduces the cleaning and maintenance costs of the insulator.

(2) Excellent resistance to ultraviolet rays, corrosion resistance, no marks.

(3) Small size and light weight The weight of 110kv/100kn composite long rod insulator is only 12% of the corresponding 70kn porcelain insulator. Such a light weight greatly saves installation and transportation costs. It tends to not require a crane and is particularly suitable for emergency repairs of lines and the erection and maintenance of mountainous lines that are inaccessible to transportation tools. It can simplify the tower structure, allow a larger span (reduce the number of towers), and provide conditions for the development of compact lines.

(4) The production and delivery time is much shorter than that of porcelain insulators.

(5) No insulation resistance zero value detection is required.

(6) No brittle disadvantages This feature is not only conducive to installation and transportation, but also makes it much more resistant to arc than porcelain insulator washing machines.
